Recreation

Due to insurance requirements there is NO TRESPASSING on the DAID dike system.

There is a boat launch in the area designated as the Dewdney Nature Park, this area is leased and operated by The Fraser Valley Regional District.

Access to the dike or pump house is by appointment only.


Some of the following areas have dike systems open for recreational access:

Matsqui Trail Regional Park
Located across the river from the DAID dike

Chilliwack
Part of the Trans Canada Trail alond the Vedder River

District of Maple Ridge
Hiking areas along the dike in Pitt Meadows and Maple Ridge

PoCo Trail
Part of the Trans Canada Trail along the Coquitlam River

City of Richmond
Built on two main islands with a group of smaller islands, Richmond offers a unique ecological setting for enjoyment and exploration.

Trans Canada Trail
The Trans Canada Trail is a non-profit, registered charity organization, whose primary purpose is to raise funds to build a recreational trail that will wind its way through every province and territory in Canada.

Dewdney Nature Park
Dewdney Nature Regional Park is a seven hectare park used mainly by anglers wishing to access the Fraser River and Nicomen Slough.
